Afaque Alam received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from JNTU, Hyderabad in 2013 and MS degree from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras in 2022. He is currently pursuing his doctorate at West Virginia University under direction of Dr. Omid Askari at Plasma, Combustion and Fluid Imaging (PCFi) Lab. He is currently working on the application of machine-learning methods in laser absorption spectroscopy to enhance its scope in combustion research.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking and playing cricket.
